Jesper Nielsen takes an early lead in Helsingborg
2005-08-16

He have been there before and now he is on the hunt for his third SuperSeries final. The Dane, Jesper Nielsen playing for Sisu made a strong finsih with a 719 pinfall the last three games and breaks the 1300 by 18 ponts.

In 2003 he finished at 37th place in Helsingborg. This year he looks for something bigger. 1318 might be qualifying. The level of the results was rather low and some of the big players’ didn´t find anything like what Jesper did.

Nearest behind is Stefan Augustsson from Helsingborg. He had a big show in 2004 at the Olympia lanes. He knocks out Anja Ginge Jensen, Andrew Frawley, Arturo Qiuntero and Oscar Broström but failed to beat Pasi Uotila. He ended up in a final position as number 16 last year. But this week he needs a better qualifying round than 1278.

Today the U-23 squad is on its way. A big warning for the young Norwegian lefty Mads Sandbækken. But there are one bigger Norwegian on the lanes tonight. Tore Torgersen, Team Pergamon will do a better Olympia Tournament 2005 than hid did last year. A position as a runner up (behind the winner Mathias Årup, 2004) isn’t good enough for Tore.
